Northern Star : Authentic and unique Finnish sauna experiences

Our Trips

At Northern Star, we offer luxury and authentic Finnish sauna experiences, from exclusive saunas and bespoke local encounters to premium accommodations and gourmet Finnish cuisine. Each journey is crafted to immerse you in the true essence of Finnish culture and luxury.

All of our trips are built around three core concepts.
The Sauna, The Guide and Meet The Locals.

The Sauna

The Finnish sauna is not just part of the journey — it is the journey. At Northern Star, every tour is built around the deeper meaning of sauna in Finnish life. We curate each experience to offer not just access to remarkable saunas, but a way into the culture, the rhythm, and the values they quietly embody.

The Guide

Most tours are led and guided by Ida Kaijalainen, founder of Northern Star and a lifelong sauna devotee. With deep roots in Finnish sauna tradition and a gentle, attentive guiding style, she offers guests more than knowledge — she offers presence, context, and care.

Meet the Locals

Meet the Locals offers guests a chance to step inside everyday Finnish people´s life — not as spectators, but as welcome visitors. Through shared meals, quiet conversations, and moments of simple presence, guests meet the authentic people who live the sauna culture rather than perform it

A concept exclusively developed by Northern Star.
